Quality Equipment for Fresh Pure Water

In January, Family Health News acquired the water filter manufacturing division of the Rockland Corporation.

We are proud to make this announcement because we believe this to be the finest line of water treatment equipment available. We have been selling this line of water filters for eight years.

The LIFETIME line of water filters consists of over twenty models ranging from one half gallon per minute to three hundred gallon per minute skid mounted units. These water filters are recommended for water improvement by Elmer Heinrich, Dr Kurt Donsbach, John Taggart and Joe Namath.

What makes these water filters so special are a few features that other water filters don’t have. First, the filtration media called R-1022 is a proprietary media that not only removes chlorine but a majority of other contaminants including heavy metals, THM’s and fluoride.

WaterThey have a loose granular filtration bed that ensures appropriate contact time for maximum contaminant removal. They can be back flushed to wash out the sediment, algae and muck that build up inside every filter. They can be disinfected to kill bacteria.

This is possibly one of the most important features of this equipment. The first time you disinfect your LIFETIME water filter and feel the tremendous heat on the outside of the filter as the peroxide oxidizes the bacteria inside you’ll know that you’ve selected the right equipment. You’ll also be wary of drinking water out of any other filter.

What follows is a summary of the LIFETIME 480 counter top filter as described by its’ creator Elmer Heinrich. You will find it a very informative treatise on the importance of using this type of filter in your home or business.

Most of us, for example, think all of our municipal water is free of impurities, and always meets all federal standards for drinking water right? Wrong! Think again. It is absolutely impossible for your city to guarantee you that you will always receive water at your tap, free of all impurities, and contaminants (and don’t let anyone try to convince you otherwise).

Now, I am not saying our municipal water treatment plants are not doing a good job treating our water, many of them do a tremendous job, however, many do not. Thousands of the municipal water treatment plants in the United States are inadequate according to EPA. This is largely due to the fact that many of these plants were built years ago, when bacteria and virus where the only concern.

They used chlorine to destroy the bacteria and virus, so at that time, these plants were very effective. However, toxic chemicals came into existence, and believe it or not more than 80,000 toxic chemicals are on the market today, and about 1,300 new ones are added each and every year.

Many of the older municipal plants were not designed to handle these toxic chemicals, and according to EPA, there isn’t enough money available today to upgrade them, while thousands require upgrading.

Among other things, our ground water has been, and is being contaminated from more than 40,000 toxic waste dumps in the United States, and by gasoline, which leaks from at least 15% of more than four million buried gasoline tanks, according to the EPA. The EPA also says thousands of miles of leaking sewer lines contribute to our water contamination problems.

Add to this the 80,000 plus toxic chemicals, many of which have already been found in our drinking water, and you can see we have a real problem on our hands. Some of these toxic chemicals are so deadly, that a small amount would kill an elephant in ten minutes.

There is one called trichloroethylene, or TCE, and another called ethylenediobromide, which is EDB, and both of these are strictly regulated by the EPA. Supposedly, safe levels for these two in drinking water are measured in the parts per billion, and safe levels are thought to be about 50 parts per billion.

Yet, they have been found in much of our water around the United States, at levels many hundreds of times greater than what is considered safe. These toxic chemicals in water are not easy to distinguish by sight, smell, or taste, but the cumulative long term effect on man is said to be very serious.

In fact the EPA says that they have identified 495 U.S. waterways contaminated by one, or more of 126 toxins. Do you understand why I get excited about water filters? I want to make sure that everyone has an opportunity to purchase a water cleaning device, which will protect them in the event these toxic chemicals show up in their water.

The EPA declares a chemical to be toxic if it damages living tissues, impairs the central nervous system, causes birth defects or death, when eaten, drank, inhaled, or absorbed through the skin. Toxic chemicals work against the life-cycle of all living mammals.

These poisons are made to destroy, and even minute amounts in drinking water can be extremely harmful to human beings. Also, as you are aware, chlorine is used by nearly all municipal water treatment plants to control bacteria. Chlorine is very effective because it is a deadly poison. At one or two parts per million, according to the EPA, it will destroy bacteria and virus like typhoid.

However, it is a known fact that chlorine can create THM’s, or trihalomethanes as they are called, when mixed with the uric acid, organic matter, and other debris known to be found in water. It is also a known fact that THM’s have, and will cause cancer in laboratory animals.

The two most common problems associated with chlorine are heart disease and cardiovascular disease. Now, would it surprise you to learn that during last year, we lost more people from heart disease in the United States, than from all wars combined that this country has ever fought, since the signing of the Declaration of Independence? Think about that!

And to be perfectly frank, I am happy that cities use chlorine in our water. I want the bacteria to be destroyed by the time it gets to my water tap, so I want to see a lot of chlorine in the water I received from the city pipeline.

Now, I must be aware of the chlorine problems, and I must be smart enough to remove the chlorine before I use the water. I have always been an outspoken advocate for drinking water systems which remove toxic chemicals, and especially chlorine.

This is were the Lifetime 480 comes in. This beautiful counter top appliance is a one of a kind water filter like no other anywhere in the world.

Truthfully, the model 480 is really unique when compared to other filters of the same class. The others have few, if any, unusual features, and many of them retail for as much as $ 195.00. The Lifetime 480 is a granulated, media water filter, it should not be confused with reverse osmosis systems, or confused with distillers.

Both of these types of units are expensive to purchase, expensive to operate, make a very small amount of purified water and take up a lot of space.

The Rockland Corporation has manufactured water filters for nearly 14 years. During this period of time, we have designed, redesigned, and tested numerous models through what we call the "trial and error test method."

After many years of research, we believe we have finally designed the ultimate water filter when we came up with our model 480. Incidentally, this design is six years old, and its function and performance have been flawless. Now lets review the model 480 carefully.

WaterWhen you look at it you will see that the unit can be back washed, it can be disinfected, the filtering media can be changed, the one micron filter can be changed, and the unit carries a limited lifetime warranty. All of these unusual features cannot be found on any other counter top water filter in the world.

I believe the most important aspect of the 480 is the filtering media, which actually cleans, and polishes the water. We use a special blend of granular activated carbon, and hydroxyapatite bone charcoal in the 480. I will personally guarantee you, that there is not a more effective granular filtering media anywhere in the world.

This media is known as R-1022. It will immediately improve the odor, and taste of your water. It will remove chlorine, THM’s, dead bacteria, and most insecticides, herbicides, and all of the 80,000 toxic chemicals in the market with an ether, ester, or ketone base.

Additionally, because of the bone charcoal, it will reduce fluoride, lead, aluminum, iron, manganese, copper, mercury, strontium, arsenic, and sulfur dioxide. Over all, this R-1022 media is truly remarkable, and when incorporated with the design, and unusual features of the model 480, nothing compares, believe me.

Now, you will clearly understand why the Lifetime 480 is vastly superior to the other units. Because of the design bacteria cannot be trapped in the 480, like other granular water filters. I believe you will be impressed with the other features as well. Best of all, the model 480 retails for only $120.00"

We are proud to produce these water filters and you can be of tremendous service to your fellow man by telling others about these quality water filters.
