Age Reversal Becomes a Reality

The past five years have been very active with news about using hormones or hormone release stimulators to manage various aspects of the endocrine system. It started in large part with the use of natural progesterone to forestall osteoporosis, treat PMS and help women cope with menopause.

The next hormone to make the news was melatonin with it’s ability to help regulate circadian rhythms and allow people to have regular sleep patterns. Melatonin was also touted as a mood elevator. More recently there was a wave of interest in DHEA as an immune enhancer and general health tonic for building lean muscle and losing weight.

All of these generated a good deal of research into the function of the endocrine system and the part that our glands play in regulating metabolism. There is a growing consensus that the most important hormone is human growth hormone produced by the pituitary gland.

Measured in the blood by IGF levels, HGH has come to be considered the master hormone in much the same way that the pituitary is considered the master gland. Before we elaborate on HGH and its’ amazing anti aging properties let’s get a little perspective on the situation.

Healthy LifestyleHuman life expectancy has nearly doubled in the last 100 years. People are living longer as a result of proper nutrition, hygiene, and physical fitness practices. The scientific discoveries of antibiotics and vaccines to control infections, advances in medical technology and pharmacology, and a growing understanding of the effects of vitamins, minerals, enzymes and other nutrients on cellular maintenance have created longer healthier lives.

The most promising advances in longevity involve the endocrine system and the important role that certain hormones play in enhancing cellular development and maintenance.

During the past twenty years, the New England Journal of Medicine has reported a number of scientific studies concerning the effects of human growth hormone HGH. These studies have contributed a substantial amount of information about the biological role and effects of HGH on humans.

In the past decade, universities and medical centers in the United States and Europe have conducted extensive research into the effects of recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) on people with growth hormone deficiency. Various groups of people were tested in double blind studies. Some groups consisted entirely of people in their 70s, while other groups were composed of individuals from 21 to 50 years in age.

All of the subjects suffered from growth hormone deficiency as a result of age or as a consequence of treatment of pituitary tumors. Research reveals remarkable effects of growth hormone supplements on the people involved in the studies. In general all of the subjects experienced these substantial improvements in health:

Rice and VegiesDecreases in body fat and serum cholesterol, increases in physical strength and endurance, higher energy levels, increases in lean body mass, skin thickness and density of lower back vertebrae. Dr. Daniel Rudman, with a team of researchers, documented these effects in his recent studies at the Medical College of Wisconsin and at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Milwaukee. The results were reported in the July 5, 1990 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine.
Human Growth Hormone (HGH) reverses signs of aging by changing the body’s composition. approximately 80% of a young adult’s body consists of lean body mass (muscle, organs, and bone); the remaining 20% is made up of fatty, adipose tissue. But after age 30 the muscles begin to atrophy, the skin thins out, and lean body mass is replaced by adipose tissue at an average rate of 5% a decade. By age 70 the balance between fat and lean body mass may be fifty-fifty. For years it was thought that these changes were inevitable and irreversible.

HGH levels naturally drop over time. By age 60 about 30% of men and women produce little or no human growth hormone. Researchers had long suspected that lower levels of growth hormone might play a role in the aging process; however, it was not until the late 1980s, when a synthetic form of HGH was mass produced in the laboratory, that enough was available to test the hypothesis. Until then, nearly the entire supply of HGH, which was extracted in minuscule amounts from cadavers, was used to treat children suffering from dwarfism.

Dr. Rudman’s study tested the effects of HGH in healthy elderly patients. The experiment involved 21 men between the ages of 61 and 81 who had diminished levels of HGH. Twelve of the men gave themselves injections of synthetic growth hormone three times a week for six months. the others received no treatment. All the subjects followed a diet of about 15% protein, 50% carbohydrates and 35% fat, but they were told not to alter their lifestyles, including the amount they smoked and drank.

After six months, the men taking HGH felt healthier and more energetic. The group’s growth hormone levels rose to levels of men under forty. Fatty tissue decreased nearly 15%, lean body mass increased 9%, skin grew 7% thicker and vertebrae became slightly denser. The researchers say HGH therapy reversed the consequences of two decades of aging.

Currently the cost of treatment using synthetic recombinant growth hormone would be $13,800 per year for a person weighing about 155 pounds; thus, long-term growth hormone treatment in elderly adults would require a considerable financial investment.

Because of the high cost of recombinant HGH and the less than optimal administration method, treatment with recombinant human growth hormone for the reversal of the aging process will be limited to those who can afford it and are willing to inject themselves frequently with the hormone. Until these conditions change, the widespread use of HGH in the general older adult population will be limited.

There is a better way. The solution to raising blood IGF levels without the high cost and inconvenience if recombinant HGH injections lies in the nutritional and biochemical sciences. Many studies have demonstrated the effects of certain amino acids that, when ingested, promote and stimulate the pituitary gland to produce and release human growth hormone.

The use of amino acids to release natural growth hormone in order to maintain teenage to young adult levels in adults of any age has been demonstrated in many instances. Growth hormone not only plays a critical role in growth and repair of the body; it also stimulates the thymus gland, resulting in better immune system performance. Of the approximately 80 amino acids found in nature, only several known varieties, when ingested, will stimulate the pituitary gland to produce natural growth hormone.

L-2 Amino 5 Guanidopentanoic Acid and L2 .5 Diaminopentanoic Acid Monohydrochloride are two amino acids that, when combined, produce growth hormone. Ingested separately, several other amino acids can produce growth hormone to a limited degree. Current research indicates that specifically balanced complexes of these amino acids obtain the best results.

One of the major benefits of the amino acid therapy is that it stimulates the pituitary gland naturally, thereby causing the secretion of growth hormone in the normal pulsatile manner throughout the day and night. There are numerous benefits in addition to reversing the effects of aging.

Included among these are increased production of collagen, which improves skin tissues substantially; accelerated post-injury healing for burns and recovery from surgery, sepsis (blood poisoning) or kidney failure; and the alleviation of various ongoing illness, such as asthma and panic attack among others.

Advanced age contributes to a host of diseases. Current evidence demonstrates the crucial role that growth hormone plays in the regeneration process of the body. Growth hormone therapy appears to be one of the most substantial breakthroughs in the fight against aging and age-related diseases.

How it works: natural growth hormone, produced by the pituitary gland, is necessary for proper protein synthesis of all lean body mass, (e.g., muscle, bone, organ, skin, vertebrae) and is vital to the maintenance and protection of these tissues. Growth hormone works to spare the utilization of proteins and amino acids that would normally be consumed as energy by the body.

Well beingGrowth hormone accomplishes this by mobilizing large quantities of free fatty acids from the body’s adipose tissues. The body uses these fats to supply most of the energy for cellular functions. This process acts as a potent "protein sparer". This easy availability of fats for energy also acts as a "carbohydrate sparer", thereby decreasing the necessity to use proteins for glycogen production (glycogenesis).
Maximizing the use of proteins for cell development and maintenance increases longevity. Some researchers consider the fat mobilization and utilization effect of growth hormone to be its most important function because protein-sparing maximizes protein utilization for growth and cell maintenance.

Recent research indicates that most of the major killing diseases are linked directly to high concentrations of fat in the body; therefore, the fat-reducing capability of growth hormone is also a formidable life-extending asset. After a person reaches his/her prime, growth hormone production begins to diminish. Researchers have long suspected that the lack of proper amount of growth hormone is responsible for the accumulation of adipose fatty tissue and the steady decrease of lean body mass that occurs with aging.

This condition is the major symptom of aging. Recent research demonstrates that this atrophy condition can be reversed if the proper levels of growth hormone are maintained in the body. Additionally, the immune system improves as a result of an increase of T-4 cell production, thereby protecting the body from illness that "age" the body.

Individuals who take natural HGH in the first month of use commonly report that they experience an increase in energy level, deeper sleep, improved mental attitude and a greater ability to cope with stress. Some people may experience temporary soreness in joints and bone due to rebuilding of previously damaged tissue, as a result of age or injury. In some individuals bone or joint soreness may persist for several months and will slowly diminish. In all recorded cases, soreness will completely subside as tissue regeneration progresses.

The second month of use produces a firming up of body muscle, some loss of fatty adipose tissue, improved skin and facial appearance. cholesterol levels decrease. Mental concentration and learning ability improve. The third month of use will produce a definite improvement in lean body mass, muscle shape and tone, continued loss of fatty adipose tissue, further improvement in facial muscles and appearance. skin elasticity and thickness improves. your muscle structure will begin to reshape and assume the definition and proportion that you enjoyed in your prime years.

Beyond the third month of use overall improvement continues. The body and facial muscle structure become more youthful as fatty adipose tissue decreases. Growth hormone achieves these effects without any physical exercise whatsoever, though a physical exercise program does produce additional benefits. The effects of growth hormone supplements are very definite but subtle.

The overall aging process occurs over years. Conversely, the age-reversal process associated with growth hormone also takes time. The reconstruction of body cells involves the cell division process; new, more complete and accurately modeled cells replace existing or damaged cells.

Because this process takes time, the growth hormone supplement user can expect a continuous, gradual, definite improvement. It is recommended that the growth hormone supplement be used properly for at least a six-month period in order to objectively monitor improvements. Research suggests that proper growth hormone supplementation should be maintained on a continuous basis after age 35.

We have included here an interview from the Family Health Hour in which two pioneers in hormone supplementation discuss the history and science behind natural HGH supplementation. Dr Ed Dorman has administered natural HGH to thousands of patients. Mr James Jameson is a world renowned pharmacologist and developer of a time release natural HGH supplement.

JT: Hello, I am John Taggart, welcome to Family Health Hour on the Longevity News Network. As most of you know, I am the editor of Family Health News which for the last eight years has presented thought provoking articles on alternative medicine and some of the most sophisticated and exciting products in alternative health.
Today, I have two guests with me and we are going to discuss one of the most important developments in nutrition and anti-aging medicine ever. Human Growth Hormone, we believe is the fountain of youth. After many years of research and thanks to the work of these two gentlemen, it’s available to the American consumer.
HGH for years was only available to movie stars and wealthy individuals often at a cost of over $30,000. Thanks to Dr. Ed Dorman and James Jamison, HGH is readily available. Gentlemen would you care to tell us about the history of human growth hormone?

JJ: For years I have been working with various hormone therapies, actually not only growth hormone but all hormones. Essentially all hormone replacement therapies are anti-aging therapies. A hormone therapy in women would be estrogen and testosterone in men.

All hormones decline with the age. They really don’t have to. It’s just basically because we are living longer and our body wears out due to pollution, due to improper diet, etc. We are changing genetically. We know that growth hormone is a major hormone for us. Insofar as the pituitary in dwarf children has been proven to improve with the use of this drug for dwarfism.

As information was published on its’ effects rapidly, weight lifters and athletes became aware of the effects. They have been using these hormones to produce lean muscle mass as well as to give them strength and energy. As a result synthetic HGH stayed in the gray market for drugs. As you said, it was very, very expensive, and it’s very unstable because it can not be made into a pill.

It’s bio-engineered and It has to be injected as a result of the fact that it’s so unstable You have to come up with five hundred dollars every two weeks and it’s a very expensive product. What’s really interesting is that because of all the recent research on longevity HGH is widely considered the fountain of youth. Researchers feel that HGH is really the top banana in the endocrine chain.

The one that all your hormones are tied to - the main link. With the endocrine system it’s necessary to have balance. You can’t have a predominance of one hormone over the other. In your midbrain actually, the pituitary, hypothalamus and other glands are all simultaneously releasing releaser hormones, and then the pituitary releases the actual hormone. Basically, what we are enabling with Somatotropin C is pituitary gland control.

The pituitary is 50% by weight of Somatotropin C, and the body in its’ infinite wisdom has learned feedback mechanisms. There is a substance Somastatin which shuts down growth hormone. We feel that what’s happening, for whatever reason the body is producing too much somastatin overriding and shutting down the growth hormone, somatropin.

So, I looked at this and there are a number of amino acids, etc., that have a growth hormone releasing effect. Since the 1970's we’ve been manufacturing products for athletes, arginine and amino acid type products which you could give at night to release growth hormone while the patient sleeps. Because growth hormone is a pulsating hormone which means it reaches its peak when you are at your deep sleep.

So there are a number of natural substances that can stimulate the release of growth hormones, the only problem with many are that: Number one, you have to take massive doses and plus the fact that the right dose of arginine by itself can cause all types of viral problems. So, we know how to do it, but it’s inconvenient, very expensive, and involves too high of a dosage.

JT: There has been a lot of work done with the HGH in the synthetic form, and I understand that you gentlemen, particularly yourself Dr. Dorman, are conducting studies with a new phytochemical or pharmafood type HGH.

ED: Right now we are studying the effects of taking the oral products and see how much improvement we get in IGF levels. We draw a blood level in the morning, and then we have them take the IGF stimulator in the evening time, at bed time, and then we measure them next morning. At this time, we are getting very measurable results in most people and we are very excited about the level of IGF it raises doing this.

JT: How would you compare it to the studies that were done a few years back with the  synthetic HGH that were published in the New England Journal of Medicine?

ED: Well, they were using powerful dosages, stronger than we use today, and I our results have been even better. Plus the natural form is safer because we don’t raise levels as rapidly and as high, this also helps prevent any side effects..

JT: Right, it eliminates the spiking. I understand that is because of a delivery system that you gentlemen have developed that passes through the blood brain barrier to the pituitary, could you comment on that?

JJ: We came up with a substance which is a number of ingredients, that are synergistically put together. We call it somatropin. When I was down in the rainforest, I was very aware that Merck was working feverishly to develop a growth hormone releasing type product. What they were actually looking for was the plants that contain certain amino peptides.

They were doing all kinds of research, and were getting fairly good results. There is a sequence of six peptides, what we call secretogogues, these substances when ingested orally would release the releasing hormones, which would excite the pituitary to release somatotropin C and in turn raise IGF levels. When Somatotropin is picked up through the liver which is where you get your IGF release in an automatic conversion burst. I looked at that and I got thinking wow!

I’ve I spent a lot of time in the rainforest and going way back Mindanao, Spanish Guyana and the Amazon. Number one, I’m a naturalist and I am very nervous about the rainforest because it’s non-reproducible. So, I looked at the types of plants that they were working with, and what I did, is that I searched the world and I found sources of natural plant substances that are recyclable, in other words, that can regenerate and that we can actually grow. The results have been phenomenal, these are edible substances.

I looked at the sequences, I typed the sequence, and I looked for that sequence.. It’s very easy because I have been doing this all my life. I was looking to tune in to something more profound, something that wouldn’t be expensive. One specific legume had the peptides that we were looking for. There are certain neurotransmitters that trigger either hormone releasing hormones, stimulants, or growth hormone releasers, and we identified those.

Secondly, we took these substances, and just because you can extract them and manufacture them does not mean that they are going to be picked up in the body, especially peptides. Peptides are very large molecules, very unstable, and you don’t get good bioavailability through the digestive tract.

That is why, prior to our work, you had to inject them. So my task was to develop a delivery system. I have worked a lot with the recombinant DNA and have been able to deliver a number of those types of molecules orally. So I used some of my old technology, going back to what Dr. Dorman and I were working on in the old days.

FruitsWe were using human gonadotropin for weight loss and I developed a process which would stabilize the gonadotropin and put it in a capsule form and it was a blockbuster hit. This was probably in the early 70's, they were using Corticotropin which is a hormone that can be very dangerous, and you had to go in every day and get a set of injections. So when I created Symbiotropin, by utilizing the same technology using what I call a "chaperone molecule".

So, we identified the secretogogues and we isolated them. We have identified seven that are profound growth hormone releasers and put them in a dosage form with my chaperone delivery system. We have provided bioavailability at a decent price.
Now, another challenge that I had was pH control. What happens is that your stomach acids chew up a peptide. All these peptides were getting chewed up. Since your gastric emptying time is two to three hours, you are going to have nothing left.

What the pharmaceutical companies will do in this situation is they will enterically coat the whole thing. They will protect it by coating, and I do that too, but that is model T Technology and I have gone a step further with polymers and subjected dialyzing with membranes, and when I was in college I licensed all the regular dialyzing membranes.

The Niceco, who manufactured for Smith Kline, all your Contact Capsules, little tiny time pellets, that was all my technology. You have to look at every molecule and what are you trying to do with it. You are trying to sustain it or you are trying to give receptor sites, or what are you trying to do. You’ve got to design the delivery system around that molecule. Well, this is what we did, and we came up with a very unique form.

My task was pH critical with the intention of increasing gastric emptying time. When we did this, what I created was an effervescent type tablet, a very nice tasting tablet. Then I loaded it up that with other amino acids. What we were doing would actually "reconstruct" the cell walls and gastrointestinal lining and also improve digestive function.

The gut deteriorates as we age and is one of our major problems. This is that our gastric intestinal track just goes to heck, and not only is it one of our main problems with drug delivery but to our overall health as well. Our enzymatic conversions are not happening because we have polluted ourselves internally. The natural Doctors are calling it leaky gut syndrome and basically what happens is, that the gut is like a sieve and it picks up all the toxins, and that is why people are getting so sick, and can’t get over the sickness. Even children that have A.D.D. which is a massive problem and probably due to diet and probably due to gastrointestinal problems and that is really where to start.

So what I did, I took the secretagogues, that was easy, I put them in these amino bases that I feel that over the long run will really be profound. Since we are going to restructure the whole gastrointestinal track, as far as the whole efficacy of delivery systems, health wise.

I mean the doctors noticed that not only day time release of somatotropin C and IGF and all that kind of stuff, but the medical, the patients response to the way they feel: Lean muscle mass, and just my God! Weight loss, they’re losing up to 7 lbs./ week and gaining lean muscle mass. This is definitely due to IGF, and we know that: Yes, it’s very exciting and we did it in very short time.

JT: You found a way to create a substance to stimulate the pituitary gland, to release human growth hormones and you have a unique way of delivering it and making the overall digestive track assimilate all nutrients, but particularly this one, and you did just start touching some of the effects and how would a person define in their own words what the reversal of aging is. You have mentioned some, the building of lean muscle tissue the growth of thicker skin and a decrease in body fat.

ED: More endurance, better function of the heart, quicker recovery time in exercise, better sexual function, better mental and emotional stability. This is important to older people.

JT: Speaking of older people, I think I saw something in the literature that mentioned higher bone density in the lower vertebrae? That has to be incredibly important to someone who is concerned with aging, fractures, or osteoporosis.

ED: Well, anytime you have increased muscle mass it’s going to affect bone metabolism too. I think that all your tendons and ligaments and joints are going to become stronger and become more flexible. I have found that with just a one unit dose, some older people had greater flexibility in their joints, and they noticed that. This was one dose, which I thought was quite interesting. They also had greater energy level and fatigued less

JJ: You can talk about bones, your skin cells or your T cells. When your body starts to regenerate instead of degenerate you have improvement everywhere. Now what happens is that as we age our thymus is going to shrivel to nothing. There is no reason for that. This is just one gland that noticeably gets repaired.

What is really interesting about growth hormone is that it accomplishes a broad based repair of every system in the body. Another instance is in genetic engineering. One of the hot products is the Repropiet, but one big problem is the production of blood, red blood cells. Growth hormone does that and there again you’re talking about bone stimulation.

DD: One of the hallmarks of aging is the shrinking to the organs, like spleen, kidney, the liver, and so forth. Growth hormone reverses that and naturally brings you back to a more youthful metabolic activity, and of course, it ‘s going to help the skin because the skin is 70% water and 25% protein, and then you have some fat and fatty acids in there. So all of those organ systems, in fact every cell of the body will be regenerated to some extent and that is the nice thing about it.

JT: That is the word that comes to mind, everything begins to regenerate instead of degenerate. Correct me if I am wrong, but you guys, between the two of you probably have about sixty years of experience in different pharmaceutical and natural health developments. This HGH - the natural form of it is brand new. It doesn’t sound to me like another fad or a recent development. This is an epochal turn in the search in the for health and longevity.

DD: Definitely this is the most profound thing to come in a long time.

JJ: Yes, I think that may be.

DD: Symbiotropin is the name of the compound, the brand name is PRO HGH

JT:  Thanks for being with us today gentlemen.

JJ & ED: Our pleasure
