Where They Are; Where They're Headed  By: John Taggart

Many people are aware of the beneficial properties of ozone, oxygen and hydrogen peroxide. They take their stabilized oxygen every day and are familiar with the work of physicians in the field.

But when a friend or family member contracts a condition that is known to succumb to bioxidative medicine they are unable to direct them toward treatment. We are barraged with calls from individuals who are looking for treatments and are unable to locate them.

In addition to that, individuals become discouraged because they feel that these treatments are not covered by insurance. Truly, modern medicine is a cruel joke on the uninformed and at best a frustrating gambit for the well schooled.

As veterans of alternative health will tell you, practitioners of wholistic and complementary medicine usually have a certain finesse at getting reimbursement for procedures that the general public regards as uncovered. In the case of hydrogen peroxide and ozone there are forthright and age old codes for the legitimate claims for these procedures. One need only to be familiar with the parlance.

These codes usually apply to the more expensive and time consuming intravenous applications. Rectal insufflation is so quick, inexpensive and effective that most practitioners have dispensed with the pomp and paperwork in favor of this simple modality.

Oxidative modalities are used to treat such a wide range of diseases that it might be more appropriate to entertain what they have not been used on, which is nothing that this author can think of. The Use of Ozone in Medicine lists conditions that have been successfully treated in alphabetical order.

It reaches from arthritis to varicose veins. Costs for ozone treatments vary. The more sophisticated procedures like Autohemotherapy or AHT, which involves removing a pint of blood, infusing it with ozone and dripping it back into the vein can be substantial. This procedure can cost anywhere from seventy-five to one hundred fifty dollars.

The same holds true for a hydrogen peroxide drip. One or two treatments is generally sufficient for most cold or flu type episodes. More complicated and chronic conditions require a more rigorous course of treatment. An insufflation, which is a gaseous enema, typically runs around twenty bucks.

This procedure involves infusing approximately one-half liter of a three percent ozone, ninety seven percent oxygen solution into the rectum. It takes sixty seconds and is the most popular modality among practitioners and oxygen enthusiasts who have acquired the equipment for home use. Most common viral conditions succumb to two or three insufflations. If a condition does not respond readily to peroxide or ozone, it's time for some blood tests.

The International Bioxidative Medicine Foundation, known as IBOM, is a referral agency for physicians who are experienced with oxidative modalities worldwide. They are the lay organization for IOMA; the International Oxidative Medical Association.

When you send five dollars to IBOM they will send you their list of physicians. That list has grown considerably in recent years and is expected to continue to expand. One problem that you may encounter in this regard is that bioxidative medicine is applicable to so many specialties that the physician on the list who is nearest to you may not specialize in the type of problem that you have.

My suggestion is this. Go to your doctor. Arm yourself first. Arm yourself with: 1) An issue of The Family News 2) The award winning documentary Ozone and the Politics of Medicine 3) Oxygen Healing Therapies by Nathaniel Altman 4) Hydrogen Peroxide Medical Miracle by Dr. Wm. Campbell Douglass 5) The physicians desk reference The Use of Ozone In Medicine by Renate Viebahn.

Any combination of two or three of the above should quicken the imagination of any well trained practitioner enough to get them to contact IOMA for the protocols. The simple fact is this - bioxidative therapies have come of age. They are safe. They are effective. If you cannot persuade your physician to look into these potent non-toxic modalities, fire him. I'm not kidding. Find one who will. Medicine is changing. Doctors need to change along with it.

As in any period of change there are two types of people - the quick and the dead. Maybe the loss of a few customers will open their minds. Don't forget who is wielding the wallet. The same holds true for your insurance company. The evidence exists to demonstrate that this is a non-toxic alternative to outmoded medications that cause iatrogenic complications. Petition them to reimburse you for the type of therapy that you elect.

Quality medical insurance for a family of four runs about five hundred dollars a month. They have a fiduciary responsibility to their customers to honor treatments that have a sound basis in science and to administer your premium dollars in a way that sustains your health and well being. You might threaten to sue them on these grounds. That usually wakes them up.

This is typically not necessary. Insurance companies have been increasingly cooperative toward covering oxidative modalities in recent years. The reason for this is the growing body of evidence. Nathaniel Altman estimates that between fifty and one hundred articles a month are published by medical professionals each month. As the insurance companies realize how they've been bamboozled by the pharmaceutical cartel on this issue they are going to be as angry as you are. Make yourself heard.

Before you beat the bushes looking for a physician, you may want to try oxygen supplements to find out whether oxygenation is a practice that you have an appreciation for. There are three basic "legs" to a standard oxygen regimen. The first is to clean out the colon before embarking on an oxygenation regimen.

This advice has been culled from the experience of innumerable practitioners of oxidative modalities. Too often individuals underestimate the detoxification power of the primary forms of "Vitamin O" hydrogen peroxide and stabilized oxygen. Eight to twelve drops of a clear liquid in a glass of water twice a day seems so innocuous.
Invariably, people who engage in this without first cleaning out suffer from what is referred to as a Hoxey reaction, a detox reaction or healing crisis. This situation can be largely averted by taking Homozon, Colo Zone or Oxy Cleanse two or three times a day for about a week before starting the drops.

These compounds contain various oxides of magnesium and have substantial physic or cathartic properties. Most people follow up this initial cleansing by doing one of the above once or twice weekly for maintenance.

The second "leg" is stabilized oxygen. We refer to stabilized oxygen as "Vitamin O" because it is an every day type of oxygenation supplement. Stabilized oxygen has largely replaced the oral consumption of hydrogen peroxide because it is more pleasant and more effective.

For a variety of reasons, many people continue to take H2O2 orally but it is getting increasingly difficult to find. The 35% food grade is a hazardous substance and a very powerful oxidant. As it grew in popularity, the incidence of shipping mishaps rose to the point where the carriers put their foot down and made it too difficult for any reasonable person to ship.

Stabilized oxygen is much more convenient to use. There are several brands which are all good and, although the manufacturers might disagree, they are all very similar. One suggestion is to try different ones over a period of time and you may wind up with a preference. The important thing is to take them. No matter what else you take don't forget to take your drops.

Most people put thirty two drops in a one quart water bottle in the morning. During the course of the day they have four eight ounce glasses of room temperature distilled water that is oxygen enriched. Never exceed one drop per ounce of water because the water is as important as the oxygenation and oxidation provided by the stabilized oxygen.

The third "leg" of the oxygenation triangle is antioxidants. There are many different types of antioxidants, antioxidant enzymes or more correctly oxygen regulating enzymes and other vitamins and minerals that inhibit free radical activity. Oxygen and enzymes go together like soup and sandwich. What are they? Vitamins A, E & C, Co-enzyme Q-10, Super Oxide Dismutase (SOD), selenium, pine bark extract and all the green powders and tablets. You probably have one or more of these in your cupboard. Use them.

To summarize - use oxygen to clean out your plumbing, take your "Vitamin O" every day, use an antioxidant formula or green supplement daily. Beyond the curative and preventive aspects of this practice you will be helping yourself to a heap of health and vitality. Salubrity.
